Tô Thị Thu

Tô Thị Thu is a 33-year-old Vietnamese mother living in Japan who, along with her husband, is determined to maintain their son's connection to the Vietnamese language and culture. After moving to Japan six years ago, she brought her five-year-old son to be closer to his parents in 2022. Despite his rapid proficiency in Japanese, Thu fears that her son is losing touch with his mother tongue, prompting her to take active steps to teach him Vietnamese at home.
