Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) is a major Japanese electric utility company, known for its role in the operation of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. In the wake of recent tsunami warnings caused by an earthquake in Russia, TEPCO temporarily suspended operations at its coastal nuclear facilities and relocated approximately 4,000 workers to higher ground as a precautionary measure.
