Tran Phuoc Tai was recently in the news after being apprehended by Thai authorities while attempting to illegally cross the border from Cambodia to Thailand. He revealed that he, along with a group of fellow Vietnamese, had been deceived into working for Chinese employers in Cambodia under the promise of a substantial salary, which they never received. The group was reportedly forced into fraudulent activities, faced physical abuse, and had their passports confiscated, prompting them to escape in search of help.
