Trent Kersten

Trent Kersten is a former head coach of the San Jose State University volleyball team, known for recruiting trans athlete Blaire Fleming from Coastal Carolina. Under his leadership, the Spartans made a notable appearance in the conference finals in 2022. Following the tumultuous 2024 season marked by controversies surrounding Fleming, Kersten stepped down from his coaching position after the 2022 season, paving the way for Todd Kress to take over. His tenure at SJSU is often remembered for its challenges, particularly surrounding issues of inclusion and team dynamics.
