Trevor Chinn

Trevor Chinn is a pioneering glaciologist who conducted an extensive inventory of New Zealand's glaciers in the 1970s, counting 3,144 glaciers and establishing a long-term monitoring program. His work laid the foundation for the annual aerial photography of representative glaciers, which has become one of the world's most comprehensive glacier monitoring initiatives, allowing researchers to track changes in glacier size and health over the decades.
