
Trevor Lock
Trevor Lock was a British policeman who gained national recognition for his bravery during the Iranian embassy siege in 1980. He was taken hostage along with 25 others but played a crucial role in the standoff by relaying messages between the gunmen and police negotiators. Lock's act of courage culminated in tackling the leader of the gunmen during the SAS rescue operation, which ultimately saved the life of an SAS soldier. He was awarded the George Medal for his outstanding bravery.
