Trióna Sweeney

Trióna Sweeney is an accomplished artist known for her unique approach to painting, which begins with a monochromatic palette that gradually incorporates vibrant colors. Her artwork often reimagines transient spaces where nature intersects with daily life. In addition to her artistic practice, Sweeney has been running the Sandymount School of Art since 2007, transitioning to an online format during the pandemic and establishing an online art school in 2023. Alongside her husband, David O’Brien, she has lovingly restored their Victorian home on South Circular Road in Dublin, which is now on the market as they seek a larger studio space. Sweeney's work will be featured in an upcoming exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art in Waterford.
