Tupaea Mika

Tupaea Mika is a 19-year-old man from the Bay of Plenty who is currently serving a prison sentence for causing death through drink-driving. In October 2024, he was involved in a fatal crash while driving under the influence, resulting in the death of a mother and injuries to her daughter. Despite appealing for home detention, his request was denied by the High Court due to his history of repeat offenses and the severity of the incident.
