Tupon Hadi Suwarno

Tupon Hadi Suwarno, commonly known as Mbah Tupon, is a 68-year-old resident of Bantul, Yogyakarta, who has recently gained public attention due to a distressing land dispute. Following the sale of part of his land to an individual identified as B, Tupon was allegedly manipulated into signing documents and transferring the title of his remaining land, which amounted to 1,655 square meters, along with his home. This land became collateral for a bank loan of 1.5 billion IDR, leading to Tupon's potential loss of his home. The case highlights the vulnerabilities faced by illiterate individuals in land transactions and has sparked public outrage, garnering support from local officials, including the Bantul Regent, as they work to assist him in resolving this troubling situation.
