Turhan Sultan

Turhan Sultan was the wife of Ibrahim I and later became a prominent figure in the Ottoman court as the Valide Sultan (Queen Mother) of her son, Mehmed IV. Known for her political acumen, she emerged as a powerful rival to Kosem Sultan, leading to a fierce struggle for influence in the palace. Her tenure marked the decline of female political power in the Ottoman Empire, as she ultimately succeeded in eliminating Kosem and consolidating her own authority.
