Ueli Kestenholz
Ueli Kestenholz was a renowned Swiss snowboarder born in 1975 in Thun. He began snowboarding in 1989 and quickly made a name for himself in the sport, becoming the Swiss vice-champion in alpine snowboarding in 1994. Kestenholz achieved international recognition when he won a bronze medal in the giant slalom at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. After competing in his third Olympics in Turin in 2006, he shifted his focus to freeriding and engaging in various film and photography projects. Tragically, Kestenholz lost his life in an avalanche accident in the Lötschental region of Switzerland at the age of 50.
