Ulzhan Bisembaev

Ulzhan Bisembaev is a 51-year-old widow from the village of Sarykobda in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan, who has been living in a dilapidated house with her two young daughters. After the collapse of part of her home, she has struggled to maintain safety for her family while waiting for promised relocation to a new apartment. Despite being first in line for housing assistance, bureaucratic delays have left her and her children in a precarious living situation, facing the constant threat of their home collapsing.
