Umberto Masetti was an Italian motorcycle racer who won the 500cc World Championship in 1950, riding for the Gilera factory. He is remembered as one of the sport's early pioneers, and his victory marked the last time Pirelli supplied tires to a world champion in the premier motorcycle racing category until the recent announcement of their return in 2027.
