Umrawat Singh was a Lance Naik in the Indian Army who served with distinction during the 1965 Indo-Pak War, earning the Samar Sewa Star-65. He was invalidated from military service in 1968 due to severe mental stress, later diagnosed as a schizophrenic reaction, and passed away in 2011. Recently, the Armed Forces Tribunal ruled that his widow is entitled to pension benefits that were long overdue.
