Unknown Belgian Teenagers

Two Belgian teenagers, both 19 years old, were recently sentenced for attempting to smuggle approximately 5,000 live ants from Kenya. They were apprehended in a hotel in Nakuru, where authorities discovered the ants, which included the rare Messor cephalotes species. The teens faced fines or a year in prison for violating Kenya's conservation laws, highlighting the growing issue of smuggling exotic species for the pet trade in Europe and Asia.
