This individual was recently in the news for allegedly participating in a kidnapping and extortion scheme against a Minsk IT specialist, demanding a ransom of 5,750 bitcoins valued over $300 million. The accused allegedly devised a criminal plan with accomplices to forcibly obtain cryptocurrency, using threats of violence to intimidate the victim. Following the incident, he was apprehended by authorities while another accomplice managed to flee the country. He is currently facing serious charges related to robbery and extortion, as his actions are being prosecuted under Belarusian criminal law.
