Unknown Tax Officer

A tax officer in Central Macedonia was arrested on charges of bribery after allegedly demanding a 'fakelaki' (a bribe) of €1,500 from a citizen to avoid imposing a fine for a tax violation. The incident was reported to the Internal Affairs Service of the Police in Thessaloniki, which conducted a sting operation leading to the officer's apprehension. During the investigation, marked banknotes were found in the officer's possession, corroborating the accusations against him. A case file is being prepared against the corrupt official, who is expected to face justice soon.
