Usman Alkali Baba

Usman Alkali Baba served as the Inspector-General of Police in Nigeria prior to Kayode Egbetokun, having been appointed to the position in April 2021. His tenure was marked by efforts to combat insecurity and enhance the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force. Following a series of challenges related to police reform and public safety, he was replaced by Egbetokun in June 2023. His leadership faced scrutiny amid ongoing concerns about police accountability and management of firearms.
