Usman Siddique

Usman Siddique is a 30-year-old Pakistani policeman from Gujrat who survived a tragic shipwreck that occurred on June 14, 2023, while attempting to migrate to Italy. He was one of only 12 survivors from the Adriana, a migrant boat that capsized in international waters, leading to the loss of over 700 lives. Siddique, who had taken a year’s leave from his police duties to undertake this dangerous journey, recounted the events leading to the disaster, including multiple failed rescue attempts by Greek authorities. After returning home on July 7, 2023, he resumed his duties as a policeman.
