v.d.W. was arrested by the Surinamese police for fraud and embezzlement after failing to deliver a large quantity of roundwood for which he had received payment. He was accused of convincing a client, R.W., that he could procure the wood for export to Vietnam, but instead provided various excuses and never fulfilled his obligation.
