Vahtras is an Estonian politician and business leader who was appointed as a minister in 2023, while also serving as the head of the Estonian e-Residency program since June 2023. He has a strong background in the technology sector, having previously contributed to the leadership and growth strategies of companies like Pipedrive and Tuum. Vahtras has also led marketing and communications at Nortal and has advised Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas on strategic and e-government issues. From 2007 to 2010, he served as an advisor in the office of Prime Minister Andrus Ansip.
