Valeriu Muravschi

Valeriu Muravschi was the first Prime Minister of Moldova after the country declared its independence in 1991. His tenure was marked by the emergence of the breakaway Transnistria region and the onset of the Transnistrian War, representing a tumultuous period for the newly independent state. While he faced significant challenges, including a lack of established defense structures and the political instability that followed independence, Muravschi's leadership during such critical times remains a significant part of Moldova's early post-Soviet history.
