Valeriya Kostiugova is a prominent Belarusian political analyst and expert, known for her work as the founder and editor of the analytical website 'Наше мнение' (Our Opinion) and as the editor and author of the 'Belarusian Annual'. At 57 years old, she has been involved in various monitoring activities regarding Belarusian political affairs. Kostiugova was arrested on June 30, 2021, during a KGB raid and was subsequently sentenced to ten years in prison for charges related to her political activities. Recently, reports have emerged highlighting her deteriorating health condition while incarcerated, emphasizing her need for special medical care and the challenges she faces due to inadequate medical treatment and living conditions.
