Valery Petrovich Gaiduk

Valery Petrovich Gaiduk was a renowned Belarusian rowing coach who played a pivotal role in training several successful athletes, including Olympic gold medalist Ekaterina Khodotovich (Karsten). He was celebrated for his contributions to the sport, particularly for coaching the women's eight crew that won a bronze medal at the Olympics. Tragically, Gaiduk died in a cycling accident on July 31, 2023, while training for a marathon, when he collided with a tree after encountering an unexpected obstacle on a familiar trail.
