Van Vleuten
Van Vleuten was a colonial administrator who conducted research on the living and working conditions of Javanese contract laborers in Suriname in the early 20th century. His reports, however, reflected a biased perspective that placed blame for exploitation on women rather than addressing the systemic issues at play.
