Varvara Metreweli

Varvara Metreweli, later known as Barbara, was the grandmother of Blaise Metreweli, the first woman to lead the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6). She fled to the West during World War II and eventually settled in the United Kingdom, where she married Georgian immigrant David Metreweli in 1947, raising a family while navigating the complexities of her own history marked by conflict.
