Vasile Botnaru
Vasile Botnaru is a prominent journalist from Moldova, known for his extensive career in media, including 18 years as the director of the Chișinău office of Radio Free Europe. He co-founded the BASA-Press news agency and has served as a correspondent for the Associated Press. Additionally, he has held editorial positions in various publications and has experience as a university lecturer. In recognition of his contributions to journalism, he was awarded the Order of the Republic, the highest state distinction in Moldova, in 2009. Recently, his candidacy for a position on the Audiovisual Council was proposed to the Parliament by the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) following the vacancy of a council member.
