Vasiliy Beresnev
Vasiliy Beresnev is a Belarusian activist and a prominent figure within the independent trade union movement. He was involved in supporting labor rights and advocating for democratic reforms in Belarus. Beresnev was detained alongside fellow activists, including Václav Oreshko, in April 2022 as part of a crackdown on dissent by the Belarusian government. Following his arrest, he was imprisoned under various charges related to his political activities, but he was released last year, unlike some of his compatriots who remain behind bars.
