Vasiliy Vasilyevich Makiyenko

Vasiliy Vasilyevich Makiyenko was a 99-year-old veteran of World War II, who served heroically at the age of 17 and was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II class for his bravery. He passed away after a tragic accident in Petropavlovsk, where he was injured in a collision with a 9-year-old girl while out feeding pigeons. Despite the circumstances, he showed remarkable compassion by forgiving the young girl who accidentally caused his injuries. Makiyenko was known for his contributions to the development of the North Kazakhstan region after the war, working in construction and participating in various civic projects.
