Vasyl Lopukh, born in 1956 in Zalishchyky, Ukraine, is a prominent Ukrainian-American researcher and historian known for his significant contributions to the preservation of Ukrainian history through the digitization of photo archives from the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen (UСС). After emigrating to the United States in the 1990s, he worked as the director of the Shevchenko Scientific Society in America, dedicating over a decade to digitizing thousands of photographs that capture the essence of Ukrainian life in the early 20th century. His efforts have made these historical images accessible to the public, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Ukraine.
