Vella Modiyam

Vella Modiyam, also known as Mangu Modiyam, was a prominent Maoist commander involved in significant criminal activities, including orchestrating violent acts in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region. He served as the operational and intelligence commander in Gangaloor and had a substantial bounty of Rs 1.3 crore on his head. His involvement in multiple crimes, particularly the murders of a minor, a student, and a villager, marked him as a key figure in the ongoing conflict between Maoist insurgents and security forces in India. Modiyam was recently reported in the news following the recovery of his body after a fierce gunfight with security personnel that resulted in a high casualty toll for the Maoists.
