Víctor Rodríguez Bajaña

Víctor Rodríguez Bajaña is a renowned artist and creator of giant paper figures known as 'monigotes', a popular tradition in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He began crafting these figures in his home workshop over three decades ago and gained notoriety for his innovative designs, including a 5-meter tall Demonio de Tasmania and a 7-meter tall Carlitos from the Rugrats series. After emigrating to the United States in 2024 for work, Víctor continues to influence the craft from afar, collaborating with his sons to incorporate modern technology into their creations, including animatronics and realistic details.
