
Vidvuds Zviedris
Vidvuds Zviedris, born in 1976 in Riga, is a prominent Latvian artist known for his dynamic transition between painting, large-scale sculpture, and photography. He studied at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan, and has exhibited extensively, including eleven solo exhibitions at the McCormick Gallery in Chicago since 2003. His upcoming solo exhibition, 'Reiz bija zila zāle un zaļas debesis,' will open on October 24 at the Mākslas stacija Dubulti, exploring themes of individual versus anonymous human resources in the political context. Zviedris integrates found materials and incorporates personal elements, such as drawings by his six-year-old daughter, into his work, aiming to awaken deeper psychological responses in viewers.
