Vijay Bhakare

Vijay Bhakare is an additional collector in Aheri, Gadchiroli, known for his dedication to public service in a challenging environment marked by Maoist activity. Recently, he garnered attention for cycling 5 kilometers to a polling center during Nagar Parishad elections due to the unavailability of an official vehicle. Bhakare oversees more than 900 villages across four talukas, including many in remote areas, and has been vocal about the need for better transportation facilities to effectively serve his jurisdiction.
