Vikalp is the spokesperson for the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee of the CPI (Maoist). He recently made headlines by alleging that the police had conducted a 'fake encounter' following the deaths of two Maoist commanders, claiming they were arrested and then killed rather than being involved in a legitimate armed confrontation.
