Virginia Mearns

Virginia Mearns has been appointed as Canada's Arctic ambassador by Prime Minister Mark Carney, tasked with representing Canadian interests in the Arctic, a region increasingly significant due to climate change and resource opportunities. Previously, she served as the senior director of Inuit relations at the Qikiqtani Inuit Association and will balance her new role between Ottawa and her hometown of Iqaluit.
