She made history on June 11, 1978, by becoming the first Romanian to win the French Open, a Grand Slam title, showcasing her exceptional talent in the sport. Over her career, Ruzici secured 14 singles titles and 9 doubles titles, solidifying her status as one of Romania's greatest tennis players before retiring in 1987.
