Vittorio Emanuele Parsi is a professor of International Relations at the Catholic University of Milan. He gained national attention after surviving a life-threatening aortic dissection, which left him in a coma for seven days. Miraculously, he recovered against an initial 1% chance of survival. His experiences during this time, along with his relationship with journalist Tiziana Panella, are chronicled in their memoir, 'La vita due volte.'
