Vivian Polanía Franco

Vivian Polanía Franco was a Colombian judge known for her role as a judge of control of guarantees in Cúcuta, Norte de Santander. She was found dead in her apartment on December 17, 2023, alongside her two-month-old baby, prompting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. Polanía, an accomplished lawyer with degrees from the Universidad Católica de Colombia and a specialization in Constitutional Law from the Universidad del Rosario, had garnered media attention not only for her judicial duties but also for her active presence on social media. Before her work in Cúcuta, she had built her career in Bogotá, where she served in various judicial capacities, including at the Superior Court of Bogotá. Her death raised significant concerns regarding her health and safety, as well as that of her infant son.
