Vlado Šimíček

Vlado Šimíček is a photographer known for his impactful work documenting the realities of war. In February 2023, while in Bakhmut, he witnessed a dilapidated ambulance stuck in the snow, prompting him to take action to improve medical support for soldiers. He initiated a fundraising campaign that successfully raised over seven hundred thousand euros, enabling the purchase and delivery of more than seventy ambulances to frontline medical teams in Ukraine. His efforts have significantly contributed to saving lives amid the ongoing conflict.
