Wade Laurence George is a member of the punk-rap duo Bob Vylan, known for their provocative and politically charged performances. The group gained attention in the summer of 2023 during their show at the Glastonbury music festival, where they led chants that sparked controversy regarding their stance on the Israel Defense Forces amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Following allegations from RTÉ that their chants were anti-Semitic, George, alongside his bandmate, initiated defamation proceedings to defend their reputation and clarify their position on political expression versus hate speech.
