Wagnergruppen, commonly referred to as the Wagner Group, is a private military company with ties to the Russian government. Known for its involvement in various conflicts around the world, it has gained notoriety for its brutal tactics and operations in places such as Ukraine, Syria, and Africa. Recently, the group has been linked to reports of severe human rights abuses, including executions and sexual violence in Mali, where they have been engaged in military operations against Islamist groups.
