Wakiyem

Wakiyem, affectionately known as Mbok Yem, was a legendary food vendor who sold nasi pecel at the peak of Gunung Lawu in Magetan, East Java. She became a beloved figure among hikers and trekkers, known for her resilience and dedication, having spent over 35 years running her warung at a height of 3,265 meters above sea level. Mbok Yem passed away at the age of 82 on April 23, 2025, and her passing was mourned by many, including fellow climbers who cherished their interactions with her.
