Walter Feichtinger

Walter Feichtinger is a retired Brigadier and a distinguished political scientist who has made significant contributions to security and defense policy in Austria. He graduated from the Theresian Military Academy and served as the commander of an armored battalion. Feichtinger has also worked as a security and defense policy advisor at the Austrian Chancellery and currently leads the Center for Strategic Analysis in Vienna. He is known for his critical views on the concept of neutrality in the context of current global security challenges, particularly following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, arguing that true neutrality is increasingly unrealistic.
