Walter McMillan
Walter McMillan was an African-American man wrongfully convicted of murder in Alabama, whose case became a focal point in the fight against racial injustice in the legal system. Arrested in 1986 for the murder of Ronda Morrison, McMillan maintained his innocence, supported by a solid alibi. His conviction was largely based on coerced testimony, and after spending six years on death row, he was exonerated in 1993 due to the relentless efforts of attorney Bryan Stevenson and the Equal Justice Initiative.
