Walter Patricio Arizala
Walter Patricio Arizala, also known as 'Guacho', was a notorious Colombian guerrilla leader associated with the disbanded Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and its dissident factions. He gained infamy for orchestrating the kidnapping and murder of a team of journalists from the Ecuadorian newspaper El Comercio in 2018. His criminal activities included drug trafficking and leading violent operations across the Ecuador-Colombia border. Arizala was killed in a military operation in Colombia in 2018, but his legacy continues to impact the region's ongoing struggles with organized crime and violence.
