Wang Bingliang

Wang Bingliang, a 62-year-old former doctor, was recently in the news for admitting to four counts of dishonest computer use related to issuing fraudulent medical exemption certificates for COVID-19 vaccinations. Graduating from the University of Hong Kong's medical school in 1988, he practiced medicine for over three decades, including further studies in pediatric medicine in Ireland and the UK, and obtaining a master's degree in public health in Australia. His actions involved issuing a staggering 6,635 exemption certificates during a six-month period in 2022, raising serious ethical concerns regarding patient assessment and medical integrity. Following his arrest in September 2022, Wang expressed deep regret over his actions, which he described as a significant personal and professional humiliation.
