Wawira Njiru

Wawira Njiru is the founder and director of Food4Education, an organization focused on providing nutritious meals to schoolchildren in Kenya. Under her leadership, Food4Education has implemented innovative solutions such as the tap-to-eat technology, which allows students to access meals through a wristband payment system. Njiru's work has been recognized for addressing food insecurity among vulnerable populations, particularly in public primary and early childhood education institutions. Recently, Njiru was in the news due to concerns raised by Auditor General Nancy Gathungu regarding financial accountability and procurement processes related to the Dishi na County school feeding program.
