W.E.B. Du Bois was a prominent African American sociologist, historian, and civil rights activist, best known for his work in advocating for the rights of Black Americans and his role as a co-founder of the NAACP. His influential book, 'The Souls of Black Folk,' challenged the prevailing racial attitudes of the early 20th century and called for full civil rights and political representation for African Americans. Du Bois was also a proponent of Pan-Africanism and believed in the importance of education and activism in achieving social change.
