Werner Brombach, born on December 29, 1939, in Erding, Germany, was a prominent figure in the brewing industry, known for his leadership at Erdinger Brewery. He transformed the brewery from a niche producer into the world's largest private Weißbier brewery, significantly increasing its production from 40,000 hectoliters in 1965 to over a million by 1990. Under his guidance, Erdinger Weißbier became a cultural phenomenon, enjoyed by fans worldwide and associated with sports legends like Franz Beckenbauer and Jürgen Klopp. He retired from the management in 2022 and passed away in October 2023 at the age of 86 after a brief illness.
